The University of Central Asia (UCA) – our partner in Kyrgyzstan

The University of Central Asia (UCA) is a world-class centre for knowledge and learning, connecting isolated rural communities with the global community and building human capital needed for modern economies and stable governance.

EFI-Supported Initiatives in Kyrgyzstan

Key joint projects include the Economics Olympiad, the Teacher’s Award recognizing outstanding educators, and the annual Akchasana Conference. Together with public awareness campaigns in new media and a series of smaller offline events, these efforts have significantly advanced economic literacy and civic engagement across the country.

Supporting students in the Economics Olympiad

UCA supports students in the Economics Olympiad by organizing and administering the competition, providing high-quality academic content, and ensuring equal access for students from all regions, including rural areas. UCA also covers participation costs for national finalists and prepares five finalists for the International Final round of EO.

Teachers Award

Starting in 2025, 10 of the most active and dedicated teachers were selected annually for the award. This year, the number of awardees has increased to 15, reflecting the growing scale and impact of the Economics Olympiad.
