EFI-Supported Initiatives in Kazakhstan
EFI and Narxoz University are strengthening economic literacy in Kazakhstan through the Economics Olympiad, upcoming teacher-training involvement, and new collaboration to adapt materials for inclusive education, including support for children with learning disabilities.
Supporting students at the Economics Olympiad
With support from EFI, students in Kazakhstan were able to participate in the Economics Olympiad at both national and international levels (2022–2025), including travel and accommodation for top finalists. The Olympiad experience fosters analytical skills, confidence, and international exposure, contributing to students’ academic and professional development and strengthening students’ portfolios, with several finalists subsequently gaining admission to Harvard, Brown, Yale and the University of Chicago.

Summer Bootcamp for Central Asia Students
The Economic Fundamentals Initiative (EFI) supported an intensive bootcamp held at Narxoz University from June 22–29, 2025, bringing together national Economics Olympiad finalists from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. The program focused on advanced microeconomics and macroeconomics, preparing students for international finals.
