About EFI.

EFI is a non-profit committed to expanding economic literacy in communities where it is most needed. We create accessible learning tools, support teachers, and collaborate with regional partners to inspire curiosity and critical thinking. Our work helps people better understand – and shape their economic futures.

Why EFI are needed

In many post-transition countries, people are navigating rapid economic change without enough opportunities to engage with clear, practical economic education. EFI was founded in 2019 to expand access to accessible, unbiased economic learning by translating and adapting Common Sense Economics into local languages and making it freely available. Since then, our work has grown in scope and reach, guided by the same mission.

Our focus: post-communist countries outside the EU with young, educated populations and significant natural resources.
